JOB SUMMARY

The BGCAZ Athletics Leagues Site Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of traditional sports leagues; including basketball, flag football and soccer. The responsibilities include overseeing the athletics volunteers and part time staff during league events while maintaining a high-level of quality and expertise on the latest trends in youth and adolescent sports and tournaments.

JOB RESPONSBILITIES

  • Tracks, records and reports all contest scores

 

  • Ensures proper placement and breakdown of all balls, cones, scoreboards, tables, bleachers, and signs prior to and after each event

 

  • Employs BGCAZ’s Rules of Engagement in day to day interaction with staff and outside vendors, spectators

 

  • Ensures facilities, equipment and supplies are stored correctly and well maintained

 

  • Consults with parents, spectators and families concerning participant issues and questions

 

  • Monitors all activities before, during and after events to be sure that policies and procedures are being followed by outside vendors and spectators

 

  • Ensures that event sites remain clean before, during and after sports events

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE, LICENSURE and CERTIFICATION

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must obtain/maintain a current CPR and First Aid (within 90 days of employment)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s license
  • Must be able to work Saturday morning, afternoons and evenings 
  • Must have reliable transportation to allow for travel between BGCAZ branches, schools and community sites across the valley to include the Central, West and East valley

 

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITY and SKILLS

  • Working knowledge of federal and state laws and company policies, procedures and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Knowledge of traditional athletic sports including rules and equipment needed for a variety of sports 
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain and cultivate excellent participant/family and community relationships and possess excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to serve as an ambassador, engage in relationship building and promote philanthropy
  • Ability to take necessary steps to ensure events provide a healthy and safe environment
